Notes for lecturers: These slides cover 40 hours of lectures, divided into 20 two hour blocks. The timing can be adjusted by adding or removing worked examples and/or exercises. The mathematical formulae in the powerpoint slides are produced in TexPoint. The course is self-contained.

Notes for self-study: The ordering of material on the slides may at times differ from the order in which the material appears in the book. This is intended to help the story. The slides are not very detailed, they only contain the main points of the argument being discussed.
